WORD FOR TODAY “As the clay is to the potter’s hand, so are you in My Hand” Jeremiah 18.6
As long as you stay pliable and responsive to God, He will never throw you away, Instead He will mould you into something He can use. When others put you down God will lift you up. A potter doesn’t press down on the clay he continuously lifts it up and shapes it as it spins on the wheel, David said “ He brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock and established my steps” (Psalm 40). Notice whose foot is on the wheel, If he could Satan would have thrown you off the wheel a long time ago, but he can’t. Look under the table and see whose foot is on the wheel -the Potter’s! Nothing can separate you from God’s love (Romans 8.39) .

FELLOWSHIP NEWS AND CONCERNS.
Spare a thought for our new church cleaner Amber who had been ill-disposed following a detached retina operation and unable to help us temporarily. Thanks to Jean D for helping out, as and when . Pleased to report Amber is back in the swing and back at work.
New Arrival - we are delighted to hear that Lauren and John Allen are proud new parents to Esmae Joan. Born on Sept 3rd. Welcome to the World! God Bless you.
104yrs! It was nice to see in the Journal that Amy Hirst’s 104th birthday was celebrated at BELONG Atherton and that she had a lovely day of treats. Some of the biographical details reported were quite inaccurate but it was clear nevertheless that she had a good day and that the staff are very fond of her.
MAF prayer requests for Mongolia. Flights support patient care and transport speech and education therapists, plus materials and food to remote places. Working in partnership with Samaritan’s Purse,
Foodbank volunteers at LBC - This would be a good time, at Harvest, to thank the band of volunteers from LBC and other churches who staff the Thursday morning foodbank at LBC – faithfully and without fuss. Amidst the excess, ‘food-a-plenty’ and waste of modern life it is a shock to discover how many people in crisis in Leigh and Atherton need to turn to the Foodbank (but they do!) Thanks for all your HARVEST donations.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD Shoe boxes: we will be collecting these again this year. As before a box can be provided if you don’t have a shoebox. Leaflets are now available to advise/remind you what can go in the boxes. SEE DISPLAY IN SUNDAY SCHOOL We hope you can continue to support this great way of helping these far less fortunate and help to spread love this Christmas. Cash donations and individual items for a box are also very welcome. Final date for donations Sunday 5th NOV
** Old Pound Coins will cease to be legal tender in October. Please check your purse, pockets and piggy banks to make sure you use them or change them soon. They also shouldn’t be added to church collections after the ‘cut-off’ date.
We remember a message Rev Mike Brawn brought us that God is not begrudging or “stingy” with his blessings and plans for us – we should be more ready to not only ask for God’s help with problems and cares but more readily to praise and thank Him when his blessings are “abundant” and ‘overflowing’ in both the small and major things of life. Please share your ‘showers of blessing’ news
BMS prayer requests for OCTOBER. Pray for PERU and local BMS workers Denisse and Rossmeri blessing around 100 families through the social projects in CUSCO with El Puente Baptist Church
SILK FLOWERS – thanks to David Ward for passing on a lovely display which originally belonged to Mabel Ward.
